Travel to Cuenca
The best option to reach Cuenca is to fly to Madrid and then depending on your preferences choose either bus (fastest way) or train to Cuenca. The distance from Madrid to Cuenca is about 160 km. To reach Atocha railway station or "Auto-rés" bus station the best option is to take a taxi (cost about 20-25 euro). The keywords for the taxi driver are "A la estacion de Atocha, al AVE" in the first case and "A la estacion de Auto-res en Conde de Casal" in the second case. If you have time a cheaper option is to use the underground with one ticket you can travel from Barajas to Atocha Renfe or Auto-res Stations. Here you can download an underground map. An option is to take line 8 until "Mar de Cristal" station and then change to line 4 until "Avenida de America", then line 6. If you travel to "Auto-res" bus station you must stop at "Conde de Casal" station which is very close to this bus station. If you go to the railway station then you must change again at "Pacifico" station to line 1 until "Atocha Renfe" station.
