Aims and Scope
Cancer is a major public health problem worldwide. Approaches to the understanding of cancer complexity are as varied as cancer itself. Specifically, considerable efforts are been made in trying to follow more synergetic viewpoints to the problem of cancer. Translational research on cancer, based on mathematical models, has arose as a promising tool, potentially contributing towards better diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutical approaches in clinical oncology as well as to the understanding of the basic biological processes behind cancer initiation and development. The aim of this workshop is to bring together researchers from all over the world to share their mathematical perspectives on tumor systems, that is to say; their Mathways into Cancer.
Any contribution in the field of mathematical models in cancer will be welcome. We hope that the methodologies and research insights gained may drive advances in the conceptual understanding of cancer and lead to novel experimental designs with clinical implications.
