MOLAB-UCA project on relapse in acute lymphoblastic leukemias funded by Junta de AndalucĂa
Saturday October 24, 2020 to Saturday October 31, 2020

The programme of Health Research projects of Junta de Andalucía (ITI Cádiz 2019) has awarded the grant "Early identification of relapse and treatment optimization in acute lymphoblastic leukemias through mathematical modelling and discriminant analysis".

The project intends to anayze data obtained from the diagnostic and follow-up procedures in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemias to improve the early identification of high-risk patients and to provide in-silico optimized treatments using currently available drugs.

The project is lead by María Rosa Durán (Department of Mathematics, University of Cádiz) and the research team includes both mathematicians and medical doctors, specifically Cristina Blázquez (Haematology, Hospital de Jerez de la Frontera); Víctor M. Pérez-García (MOLAB, Ciudad Real) and Manuel Ramírez Orellana (Hospital del Niño Jesús, Madrid), and many other researchers from these institutions.

The project will run from November 2020 to October 2023.
