A growing body of literature indicates that mathematical modelling can complement experimental cancer research by offering alternative means of interpreting existing data and by enabling extrapolation beyond empirical observation. The results presented in this talk give examples of how analysis and numerical simulation of nonlinear partial differential equations can help uncover fresh insights into the critical underpinnings of the evolutionary dynamics of cancer.
